The Town of Vinton will be celebrating the Fourth of July as usual on the grounds of the Vinton War Memorial. Activities get underway at 6 p.m. with the band Fuzzy Logic playing country, rock, funk, and dance music.

There will be a patriotic program from 7:15 until 7:45 featuring Floyd Boone and Gracie Moore singing patriotic selections. Bootie Chewning will be reading a poem; 7-year-old Riley Cummings will lead the Pledge of Allegiance; and Mayor Brad Grose will share his thoughts on Independence Day.

The evening will conclude with fireworks by Grucci Inc., at 9:30 p.m.

K&T Entertainment will set up large inflatables for the children and a train for all ages. VA Paint will lead a paint-on-site for the children. There is a nominal charge for the inflatables and paint activity.

Food concessions this year will be offered by Texas Tavern with other vendors selling cotton candy, kettle corn, nachos, frozen lemonades and tea, Gourmet Ice, and soft drinks.
